Our mission is to empower individuals to start a conversation about the impact dogs have on our mental health.

We believe dogs aid us in reclaiming our authentic selves, allowing us to connect with others on a deeper level. We are proud to have the support of many mental health professionals as we create a wag-worthy community of unconditional love.

Our Vision

Mental illness is complicated. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, in the United States, 1 in 5 adults experience some degree of mental illness each year and the numbers are nearly the same for youths aged 6-17. Treatment is unique to each individual. This makes it difficult to find a plan that works and therefore steers many away from a path towards recovery. On average, there is an 11-year gap between the onset of symptoms and seeking help.

Animal assisted therapy offers several benefits for both mental and physical health. We believe dogs are a great way to help break the ice and reduce the initial resistance towards treatment. To be clear, animal assisted therapy is not limited to just dogs; it can also include cats, horses, rabbits and more. Our focus at Cap & Jack remains on dogs and their keen ability to offer a wide range of support on many different levels.

Cap & Jack Cares

The Cap & Jack Cares Project envisions a world where our communities are filled with more compassion. Dogs lead by example; they are always there to celebrate our victories and validate our struggles. Their warmhearted demeanor sets a high standard and reminds us to always act with empathy.

We believe a dog’s unconditional love aids us in reclaiming our authentic selves, allowing us to connect with others on a deeper level. Without even realizing it, dogs teach us how to trust. Their loyalty brings a level of comfort that extends far beyond just our physical safety. They bridge the gap between vulnerability and inner confidence. It’s our choice to find our bridge and have the courage to cross.
